Seedstock producers will have a rare opportunity to access elite females from the heart of one of northern NSW’s leading Hereford studs at the Truro Whiteface 12thannual Bull and Female Production Sale in July.

The sale will be hosted by the Hann family at Bellata on Monday, July 20 and features 27 horned and polled bulls, alongside 40 horned and 10 polled females.

The female catalogue is packed full of power with the star lot, Truro Daffodil E058, the Supreme Champion at both 2012 Sydney and Brisbane Royal Shows.

Also in the offering are several females by Yarram Park Unique F181, arguably the best breeding and figured horned bull in Australia.

The females, predominantly aged five to seven years, will be pregnancy-tested-in-calf before the sale, with horned cows joined to Kylandee Niangala (H) and polled cows to Centennial Anzac L055 (P).

Truro Whiteface principal Scott Hann said rarely does an opportunity come along to secure a sizeable draft of such elite, proven female genetics.

Among the bull battery will be an outstanding group of Centennial Anzac L055 sons.

“Anzac is breeding the house down,” Mr Hann said.

“Anzac’s first cows have calved and are showing great udders and low birth weights.

“We are offering a number of low birth, short gestation and positive calving ease bulls with docility.

“They are structurally correct, chock full of red meat, and will lift carcase and intramuscular fat in commercial herds.”

Mr Hann said the homebred sires represented included Truro Jonte, Truro Moonraker and Truro Gillette.

“Many of the sale bulls are in the top percentiles of the Hereford breed for eye muscle area, intramuscular fat, 600 day weight and milk,” he said.

The bulls have been treated with a 7-in-1 vaccine, Pestiguard, Cydectin and Multimin, have been semen tested and carry the Truro guarantee.

The stud cattle at Truro are run alongside a commercial herd over two properties east of Bellata in northern NSW.

The Helmsmann sale will be interfaced with AuctionsPlus and the catalogue will be live from July 17.

Bull and female inspections are available prior to sale day and appointments can be made by contacting Scott or Pip Hann on 0427 937 839 or 0428 937 839, or agents Russell and Christene Smyth, Ray White Rural Bingara on 0428 684 227.

Mr Hann said clients could rest assured hygiene protocols will be in place at the sale or they could bid from the comfort of their own home on AuctionsPlus.
