Meet Team Truro

Scotty

Growing up at Truro, Scott completed his schooling in Moree before heading to Longreach to Jackaroo.  Returning home to Truro after a few years, Scott worked on the family farm with his parents John and Peggy.

Scott is the fourth generation to farm at Truro, commercial Hereford cattle being run on the property for many many years.

Scott founded the stud, Truro Whiteface, in 1987, after spending his whole life around Hereford cattle. The stud began with Horned Herefords before expanding to include Poll Herefords in 1997.

Scott has judged cattle at many shows including Royal Sydney Show, Royal Melbourne Show, Royal Launceston Show, Alice Springs Show, Royal Perth show and many many local and junior shows.

Pip

After completing her high schooling in Sydney, Pip attended Hawkesbury Agricultural College where she gained a Bachelor of Applied Science (Agriculture) majoring in beef cattle and the marketing of red meat. Following that, Pip Studied at the Sydney College of Advanced Education where she gained her Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary), majoring in the teaching of secondary science and agriculture.

Pip has worked as a secondary teacher as well as in the agriculture field, employed by many cattle businesses including Classic Cattle Company Limited and International Stud Stock Embryos Pty. Limited.

In 1990, Pip was a Royal Agricultural Society Young Achiever.

Pip has judged at many shows and has also assisted in the running of many junior cattle shows.

As well as her passion for cattle, she has also always loved horses, competing at state and local levels for many years in eventing and show jumping as well as being a NSW Pony Club Instructor.

After marrying Scott in 1993 Pip moved to Truro. She now plays an integral role in the daily running of the farm, while also ensuring all paperwork and book work is completed (some may even say she is the brains behind the operation!).

Matilda

Matilda, or better known as Tilly, is currently living and working at Truro assisting on the farm and also running all marketing and social media. She also helps with the showing of stud cattle, this year helping with showing and preparations for Sydney and Brisbane Royal shows and many other local shows.

In 2022, she completed her university studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast, gaining a Bachelor of Business (Marketing), with minors also in social media and advertising.

Tilly grew up at Truro and around Hereford cattle, attending many local junior shows.

Sophie

The baby of the family, Sophie loves being on the farm and around animals, including Hereford Cattle.

Like Tilly, she grew up at Truro and attended many junior shows.

Sophie is currently studying at the University of the Sunshine Coast, completing a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology.

When she can, she loves getting back to Truro and helping out with the cattle.
